Pangarchulla is undoubtedly among the most fabled trails in Garhwal Himalayas and as one gets started
on the trail, the visions of high, chimney-like peaks welcome one. The trek adorns the Lord Curzon
circuit.
Pangarchulla Trek takes one to altitudes as high as 14,700 ft. A few of the factors make the trek
particularly attractive for mountaineering enthusiasts. They get an opportunity to test out their non-
technical mountaineering skills to the fullest.
Pangarchulla trek is well recognized for the thrill factor and the adrenaline rush that it makes available
for the trekkers. The trek spans seven days and gives one a chance to visit the most important
pilgrimages in the mystical land of Uttarakhand - right from Haridwar to Joshimath. Joshimath is also the
site of our base camp.
The point from which we start trekking lies slightly further ahead, in the Dhak village. The trajectory is
full of rocky tracks. As we ascend further, the villages towards the side of the cliffs come to be visible and
it is a sight to behold. One comes across slanted roof houses and terraced farmlands. Green meadows lie
right ahead and at all times, signature peaks of Garhwal Himalayas will make their majestic views
available. The most important among them are Barmal, Hati-Ghori, Chaukhamba, and Nanda Devi.
Glittering views of snow-covered peaks is a characteristic feature of this trek, which makes it a must-
experience trek of a lifetime. These mountain views will be visible towards the culmination of the trek as
well. Other premium attractions of the trek that speak of the grandeur of the Himalayas are the variety of
flora and fauna, a ridge climb on summit day, and unbound snow on risk-free slopes.
The journey from Dehradun comprises a view of vibrant and green cities passing you.
Joshimath, the sacred place in the lap of the Himalayas is the starting point of most of the Himalayan treks as well as home to many pilgrim centres, Badrinath being one of them. The Kuari pass trek also begins from Joshimath which is at an elevation of 6696 feet. You can reach Joshimath via bus or car. You can also book through us and make your travel hassle-free, the buses depart at 7:00 am from Dehradun to reach Joshimath.
The ride into the Himalayas begins early in the morning from Dhak village in Joshimath. It is a half an hour drive from Joshimath.
The trek from Dhak is quite memorable: walking through dusty trails in between houses with roofs painted white with snow, ancient bridges and forested slopes, we reach Tugasi village. Here we get a closer look at the Himalayan village life in houses made up of stone walls, mud floors and slate roofs. As we trek further, the setting switches between the gradual ascent of approximately 4 km along the Tali lake.
We arrive at Tali Forest Camp, our final destination for the day, by evening. Pitch the tent in the clearings amidst the walnut forest and take the needed dose of rest for the next adventurous day.
